Berrynarbor nestles in the beautiful Sterridge valley and is a
regular winner of the village of the year, most recently 2003.
The white painted thatched cottages are decorated with flowerpot
characters and gardens are spectacular. In the summer there are
many activities organised by the locals which are very popular
including fayres and hog roast barbecues.
Nearby the pretty linear village of Combe Martin has much to
offer including a very pretty beach with rock pools to explore.
Numerous shops and pubs and cafes include the famous pack of
cards pub with a fabulous beer garden.
In Ilfracombe a traditional seaside town there are many
attractions including a mainstream theatre pubs restaurants
including Spanish, Italian and English a la carte varieties and
new for this year Damien Hirsts waterfront cafe bar.
Sailing trips are on offer to the island of Lundy and day long
sailing on a Victorian cruise ship newly restored to Padstow in
Cornwall and back.
15 minutes drive to the finest family beach in Europe at
Woolacombe surfers paradise with many varieties of eating places
to explore in the town.
A little further down the coast to wide sands of Saunton and
Braunton and the majestic Croyde bay.
